Harbour Conference 2019

In 2019 Harbour hosted our first regional conference on mental health and emotional wellbeing in association with Kintsugi Hope and CWR.

The Harbour Conference – Finding and Providing a Port in Life’s Storms explored how the church can support positive mental health and well-being in our local community.  It provide lots  inspiration and practical ideas to equip and empower individuals, carers and local churches to navigate the challenges that mental health can bring to people’s lives.
The afternoon sessions were a mix of local speakers and practical workshop activities.  Topics included stigma, listening skills, creativity and relaxation.
The speakers were  insightful and practical sessions were led by qualified, experienced, local mental health professionals, carers and uniquely experienced individuals.

The conference also looked at the importance of caring for our emotional well-being and its impact on our ability to function effectively in today's pressurised society.

Honesty Over Silence - The Tour seeks to open up conversations around topics that many find difficult such as trusting in God when life is painful, dealing with anxiety and depression, learning to look after ourselves, developing our character, and living with thankful hearts even in tough seasons.  It examine the strength in letting go of the need to be in control as well as looking at how we can stop comparing ourselves to others and instead live authentically and honestly as we grow into the people God has created us to be.  Much of the material is be taken from Patrick’s new book of the same title.

We were joined Patrick Regan OBE and singer–songwriter Diane Regan on their limited dates tour.  Patrick explored themes from his latest book, ‘Honesty Over Silence’, and Diane will be performed songs around the theme of honesty, faith and hope.  It was a great opportunity  for people in and out of church to enjoy an inspiring night out that addresses issues relevant to many in today’s modern society.
